Monarch Grand Vacations - Vacation Ownership Review from Fort Worth, Texas

Very sad to hear your story. My friend called me to say she cancelled her Diamond contract (within the specified time). Although Diamond is working to slow up the process, I have diligently researched all of their business entities. Doesn't look promising to do business with them. My friend owned Monarch outright & Diamond talked her into "upgrading" to Diamond. She was never knew that Monarch went "out of business." But when I researched Monarch, they are presently "active." Bottom-line. A real estate agent can't be both an R.E. agent & Escrow agent. Check your docs carefully to see if there is deceptive business practices occuring. Contact the Attorney General's office in the State of Nevada; file a complaint; the forms are easy to read. I know my friend will prevail, but those of you who have exhausted statutes of limitation re Monarch, contact the Division of Real Estate & the Attorney General's Office to file complaints. I'm not an atty, but I know bad business practices when I see one. Feel free to send an e-mail in case a potential class action is necessary. I willnot share your info but will contact you if my friend finds it necessary to start legal actions. AwesomeContacts@***.com

Off Brand Timeshare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased a Pacific Monarch Timeshare in 2004 from Palm Springs Palm Canyon Resort. Since the time me and my wife purchased the timeshare, we have not seen any improvements at Monarchs Resorts. But each year our maintenance fee has increased. We were approached by Diamond (for a large amount of money) to come over to their side for better and added Resorts. We did not, but we know several people that purchased into Diamond. We were told by Diamond eventually Monarchs nine Resorts inventory would go away due to Monarch being now owned by Diamond and Monarch members coming over to Diamond. The people that we know are dissatisfied from going over to Diamond due to their lack of renovating their resorts. Diamond acquires Resorts but very little if any improvements are made and they charge you prime prices and high maintenance fee's, what a rip off. If you try to get rid of your timeshare it is almost impossible. Monarch or Diamond won't even take it back, so you are stuck with increasing fee's and mediocre Resorts. In some case's you have to pay large sums of money to someone in order to get rid of your timeshare-fee's. I found out Monarch/Diamond Resorts are considered off brand timeshares. I checked and some of your name brand timeshares will buy them back or sell them for you. There should be a law or some way to stop the rip off tactics of these timeshare companies.

Class Action Law Suit Against Monarch Grand, and Diamond Resorts Int

So it seems we are all in the same boat, and according to the emails below we all want a class action law suit against Monarch or Diamond Resorts, has anyone started this???or done anything about it?? How can we contact a lawyer who specializes with this, and can do it on a contingency?? any Ideas I am so in. We pay $2000.00 maintenance fees a year for a weeks vacation?? Pathetic, we need to fight this. The problem is if you stop paying your maintenance fees they can come after you and even take your house away. The other issue this wonderful timeshare is passed onto your kids, a noose around their necks. Please come back to me I am seriously looking for a lawyer and a way out ,the same as all of you, lets do it together. Nina NVarkel@***.com

JOIN "CLASS ACTION" LAWSUIT vs. DIAMOND RESORTS

Friday, October 30, 2015

Thus far we have 2 clients that want to group together in a formal Class Action Lawsuit against Diamond Resorts Intl.

for flagrantly abusive Timeshare Fraud, Felonies, Racketeering and a multitude of other Legal Charges for abusive business practices.

In my particular case (Ruben Pena), I have 58 Legal charges against them (CA State violations, NV State violations & Federal violations).

Nina Varkel is also "in" with her Legal Complaint & Charges against Diamond Resorts. The Law Firm that wants to move forward with a major Class Action Lawsuit against Diamond Resorts is "US Consumer Attorneys" of San Diego, CA [www.USconsumerAttorneys.com]. To do so, they need a minimum of '10 Clients' that are willing to join the Class Action Lawsuit vs. Diamond Resorts Intl.

Thus we need a minimum of 8 more Timeshare Clients that have been victimized by Diamond Resorts Intl. to join this Class Action Lawsuit. That more Clients that join the Lawsuit, the higher the probability of reaching a Large compensation for Compensatory & Punitive Damages, and the cheaper it will be for each Client to Join the Lawsuit. ONLY SERIOUS CLIENTS THAT HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED BY DIAMOND RESORTS SHOULD JOIN!!!

IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT JOINING THIS "CLASS-ACTION" SUIT, THEN PLEASE DO NOT CALL nor JOIN!!! The objective of this Lawsuit against Diamond Resorts Intl. is four-fold: a) get out from under the timeshare contract once and for all b) fix your credit score with the 3 Credit Bureaus c) get reimbursed for the Equity invested into the Timeshare d) get payment for Compensatory Damages as well as for Punitive Damages incurred as a result of the flagrantly abusive Timeshare Fraud, Felonies, Racketeering and the multitude of other Legal Charges for abusive business practices by Diamond Resorts Intl. against their Timeshare Customers.

The contact name of the attorney for this Class Action at USconsumerAttorneys.com is Jason Daniel Hughes @ CELL: 1.619.715.1366. ONLY SERIOUS CLIENTS THAT HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED BY DIAMOND RESORTS SHOULD CALL!!! IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT JOINING THIS "CLASS-ACTION" SUIT, THEN PLEASE DO NOT CALL!!! In addition, a major U.S.A.

Newspaper is about to publish (within the next few weeks of today Oct 30, 2015) a major investigative/documentary article that is going to expose the abuses of the entire Timeshare Industry in the United States, including and especially the biggest rat in the sewer Diamond Resorts Intl., which will include references to Clients that have been swindled in the process by Diamond et al., as well as how to get 'Legally' once and for all out of the Timeshare by contracting one of many Law Firm that will assist in thye process. The Law Firm for this particular Class Action Lawsuit is "US Consumer Attorneys" of San Diego, CA USconsumerAttorneys.com. THANK YOU very much for your time and attention.

Look forward to hearing from interested Timeshare Clients soon. ~ Friday, October 30, 2015 Respectfully Yours, Ruben Pena ruben.pena.2000@***.com C: 1.650.429.8505 Nina Varkel Nvarkel@***.com T: 1.949.633.3628 Jason Daniel Hughes USconsumerAttorneys.com CELL: 1.619.715.1366

Matt B. Pasadena California: I have been working on this Case for 6 years since Diamond Resorts

bought MGV out of BK....

The real issue is that Diamond Resorts failed to pay the Resort fees on the Time they bought out of MGVs BK. If you look at the balance statement the Maintenance fees listed never changed and their was no compensation by Diamond Resorts to pay the same fees we complain about. By legal definition this is not a Time Share, but a money grab by Diamond Resorts. I think in 2016 Diamond Resorts started to contribute.

but it did not come close to the amount that Diamond was supposed to pay.

I think MGV owners paid $60Mil a year in fees and Diamond paid $5.2Mil. So Diamond Resorts pays for the Developers portion in BK for almost nothing and does not pay for the maintenance fees?

Hello...I'm in for the lawsuit if it's not too late.davinson57@***.com

There are basically 3 Law Firms in the USA whom have successfully SUED and WON against Monarch Grand Vacations & Diamind Resorts. These are:

> TimeshareLegalAction.com - Attorney Mitchell Reed Sussman

> USconsumerAttorneys.com - Law Firm

> FinnLawGroup.com - Attorney Michael D.

Finn, Esq.

Of these 3, the most successful have been the first 2 which are both located in California. However, of these 2, th most agressive Attorney is Mitchell Reed Sussman of TimeshareLegalAction.com. The 2 other Law Firms whom have also sued Diamond Resorts as well and have also WON, but their Suits are not as Big nor Lucrative vs. Diamond Resorts.โ€‹

I suggest that as many folks as possible group together and approach Mitchell Reed Sussman @***.com in a Class Action Lawsuit.

There is power in numbers. Mitchell Reed Sussman's fees are high BUT he gets tangible results WITH a SIGNIFICANT REFUND of Mortgage Equity Investment of the Timeshare, and in some cases even PUNITIVE DAMAGES from the Timeshare. As for myself, its impossible to afford a good pricey attorney since I am Unempoloyed at the moment. However, if enough of us group together in a Class Action Suit against Diamond Resorts Intl., then the Attorneys Fees / per Client will drop dramatically and will be doable.

Who is in? Please let us know.

Thus far 2 people are in: ... Nina Varkel Rubรฉn Peรฑa

I was contacted by this company about a collection on behalf on Capital One. We reached an agreed upon balance and I sent them the check and they were to remove the collection from my credit report and report it as "paid as agreed" with a zero balance. Needless to say, they never sent me a statement and only marked my credit report with a zero balance with the remarks "payment made after charge off/ sold to another creditor" and NOW I'm being SUED by that creditor for something I don't owe!!! Any help would be appreciated. I have the name of the person I spoke with and my account number.

Monarch / Diamond theifs

My husband and I bought Monarch in the 90's and paid it off very fast. We are now divorced and have been splitting paying the maintenance fees. We never use it but have no choice but to pay...Diamond people have called me and hassled me to convert over to them and kept putting on the pressure on me even after I told them I have mounting medical bills due to having had breast cancer. I really just want to give this back to them - Diamond can keep this, if Monarch has gone BK then why should we have to keep paying?!!!

Monarch/ Diamon or whoever they are calling themselves now!

Originally I was an owner of two units with Club/ Navigo, Island One. I never had any issues with them and after the fact found out they went bankrupt and Diamond took them over. However the point structure and fee maintenance pricing was not even similar. I had two month left to pay on one of the units and would have owned it and they will not give me the paper so I can sell it. They say I haven't paid their taxes and maintenance fees which they were charging before I had received the new contracts from Diamond. They have done nothing but lie and steal from me and now I find out that they bought up another company Monarch, probably would have been nice to share that with their owners. I have offered to give the units back with no money but have been refused and I simply can't and won't pay these shysters. If anyone is getting a class action suit against them, please please contact me. cbh0402@***.com

Review in Hotels and Resorts category from Los Angeles, California

Anyone that is filing a law suit, I would like to join in on it. I have many stories of how deceitful they were. I tried countless times to book accommodation and for a simple vacation and they always told me nothing was available even when I tried 3 months out, even though they originally told me I would only need to book 2 weeks in advance. I paid thousands and never even got my free flights and free vacation for signing up and paying $2000. They are unbelievable criminals. Mahamana.kitchen@***.com

The same thing happened with my husband & I. I tried booking months in advance & was told that as long as the reservations were made prior to the points expiring we would be good; this was not the case.

What made matters worse was that we were told this my a senior exec at one of their informational meetings.

We spent all of that money for a timeshare that we barely used and can't get rid of it.

Maintenance fees exceed the open market cost

We bought into the program because we loved Cabo Azul and thought that becoming a GMV member would be a good long term investment for our family. During the high pressure sales we were assured that (1) the membership value would rise as Monarch Grand Vacations expanded, that (2) we would have discounted access to a growing number of resorts, that (3) we (the multitude of voting members) were the owners/share holders and therefore decision makers, that (4) we were share holders in a growing number of vacation properties, that (5) the maintenance fees would remain low, that (6) in a few years, the membership savings would eclipse the cost of the initial membership point purchase and the annual membership fees, that (7) the points would appreciate in value and that (8) we could redeem, trade, sell or transfer our points at any time. Well, not one of these assertions appears to be true. In four years as MGV/DRI members we are paying double our original maintenance fees. On the opening market we can reserve our vacations for considerably less than the current maintenance fees. There is a huge gap in access to meaningful information and ownership participation.Try having a conversation with DRI customer service on cashing out -it won't happen. Online, frustrated members are offering to transfer/sell all of their points for nothing if the buyer will assume their contract and maintenance fees; indicating that the membership points actually have a negative value for many of the owners who just want out. It goes on. What to do?

Watch out for this timeshare or any timeshare for that matter. Never sign up they are going to rob you blind, they love to milk their cows, they are bloodsucking leeches. Once you signed up there's no turning back. Ever since Diamond International took over Monarch Grand Vacation, everything went from worse to worst. I regretted signing up; their Maintenance Fees keep going up I don't understand where these Maintenance fees go when there's damage on the resort due to natural disaster they will raise the fee. Don't they have money set aside for renovations? I would like to see this timeshare go bankrupt and so is Diamond International.

Maintenace fees have sky rocketed.

When I first joined Monarch, my fees were in the range of $300 per year every other year. I now pay in the range of $1000 per year every year. We now have points and are with Diamond Resorts and pay these fees every year even though we can only use our points 1 out of every 2 years thus paying in the range of $2000 for a 2 bedroom week at the Cancun in Las Vegas (and a simple benefit like WiFi is not included)! This is way out of line for similar rooms in LV and a misrepresentation of my agreement.

I have no complaints about my Pacific Monarch timeshare. I Love It! We have a 2 day in Vegas scheduled for my sons 21st. in August, a week at the beach for August, and a week in Brian Head for December. For those of you that say it sucks and can't get a vacation obviously don't know what you are doing. Yeah sometimes they are booked up, but most of the time there is always something. If I booked these vacations and a regular customer on line it would cost me $3,558.00. I myself could not afford these vacations otherwise because I am terrible at saving money. Yes I paid $24,000 (paid off) for my time share, but my children and grand children will be able to use indefinitely. So to pay $2,000.00 a year is so worth it. We use it every year. FYI I just booked these yesterday so I didn't have to do it weeks or even months in advanced. Oh and if you are a member of Interval and you use their short stay exchange you can get a dozen vacations anywhere from 1-6 days instead of 7 for a small fee. Instead of 1-3 one week vacations through Monarch. My family and friends have enjoyed many vacations thanks to Monarch. Just remember nothing in life is perfect, but Monarch is perfect for me. FYI I was able to give my daughter a Honeymoon to the Islands. Yeah Me.

We have also enjoyed our Monarch Resorts! We have 72 original points and only pay $88 per quarter.

This translates into 4320 points on the Diamond scale.

If you are looking to just add points to your account for a low cost (only $352/year!) without the HUGE cost of buying into Diamond, then I'm sure we could make an arrangement. Please let me know if you're interested - gary@***.com.

They have high maintenance fee, which keep going up. Their website is often down when making online payment resulting in late charges. We can't make reservation when wanted in spite of their promise that we can reserve wherever we want anytime. We also saw some added obscure charges in the latest statement that even they couldn't explain, contradicting each other. One said it was HOA fees, the other said it was late fees, the statement said Xprepaid credit card fees (?) (it is set up with our bank account, not a credit card) Want out through class action lawsuit or any other way.
