We have been robbed by Monarch Grand
We purchased monarch grand about 2 years ago and right after that we were told Diamond resorts bought them out. Everytime we try to use the timeshare there is some kind of excuse as to why we can't use it. Now we just found out they are raising the fees on us. This has been a nightmare. Please tell us if anyone is suing them Im all aboard . We feel the only way to get rid of this timeshare is to just let it go but that will destroy our credit and we are trying not to let that happen.

Timeshare Review
I am extremely unhappy with this timeshare. I am dissatisfied with the availability of the different locations, it is always difficult to access my points to make reservations. I have owned this timeshare for ten years and the raising prices are disturbing. It was an absolute mistake to buy this timeshare.

Monarch Grand Vacations - Vacation Ownership Review from Riverside, California
I called monarch grand vacation to ask questions about putting my timeshare for sale. I was told to contact diamond resort. Diamond resort told me that I needed to call monarch branch but that they could answer my questions. They told me that nobody is interested in buying time from a bankrupt timeshare. That if I stopped making maintenance fee payments they would send me to collection. If they did not collect after a period of time they would start the process to repossess my points. I told them that I was willing to sign my point to them. They told me I can do that. I don't have the money to pay an attorney but I will contact my governor and my local representative to see if they can help me. I'm trapped by the timeshare bullies.

Increasing of the maintenance fee
We are owner of Monarch Grand Vacation. At the Update meeting, the salesman told us the Monarch owners will not only see increasing of the maintenance fee, but also special assessment. Since Diamond took over, we felt very hard to book a vacation, they have more restrictions of using the points. So the points became useless. Is it legal to do this to our owners? I saw this class action against Diamond, any one knew how it ended? http://www.timeshare-info.org/2012/04/diamond-resorts-international-faces.html Does anyone know if there has been a Monarch owner class-action suit started or what it takes to get one started?

High Maintenance Fees
I guess we are all in the same boat. We all got sucked in on this very expensive timeshare. When I bought my time share 12 years ago, I bought more shares so I can have longer vacations. Well, Diamond Resort purchased Monarch Grand Vacation. Now, I have to pay 2 maintenance fees every quarter. I am paying $7200 every year because I was told that since I have a balance with Monarch Grand Vacation, therefore, I have to pay 2 maintenance fee every quarter. Please count me in. This is gouging. Paying this much money on Maintenance fees are uncalled for. I also called to see if I can sell this time share but I was told that I need to pay it off before I can do that.

Monarch Grand Vacations - Timeshare Review from Covina, California
Please add us in on this lawsuit I've owned this timeshare for 10plus years and have been paying my dues for all 10years and have been able to use the hotels only 3 times being when I want to use I can't get a hold of anyone. I divorced my wife 6years ago can't get her name off cause tye say she has to sign but she won't and so she changes this screws me over all the time and I can't do anything because they say she never had anything to do with this when we were married still doesn't except to switch my address from time to time to hers so I don't pay my dues and then there on me. The list goes on how they don't live up to anything. So count me in bguns03@***.com please or cmannebach@***.com thanks

They just want our money..
Those people at MGV tricked me and my wife into buying ownership points. They're very insistent. My wife and I already told them a few times that we didn't want it but me and my wife were too naive that time they keep on insisting that's it good for us and we'll enjoy it blah..blah..blah and we got suckered into buying points just to get it over with, we're the one that got frustrated because they'll keep talking to you and will try to convince you and we fell for it, these people are trained to do this kind of mind trick, and it was too late before we realized it.The only good thing is we bought the lowest package they had but it was still expensive. They said unused points will be rolled over but it didn't the unused points expired and they didn't tell us that The quarterly assessment fee was not fixed, we thought that it will be $45 forever but it keeps increasing then when you make reservations there's none available on the dates you wanted, if you call 45 days before they say all days are booked so I tried calling 3 months before the dates I wanted then then told me it was too early to call and won't accept my request to make reservations and most of the agents are rude and not nice..

Unhappy Monarch Owner - I want out!
Please add us to any class action lawsuit, we were recently put under pressure to try and join the Diamond membership. They badgered us for over 4 hours telling us that our original plan is no good anymore, and that we would not be able to sell it because they are now bankrupt. They only way we would be able to get this off our record is to purchase a new plan under Diamond and continue to payoff the old plan. We were also told that our HOA fees would continue to increase as other members join Diamond and get out of the Monarch plan. We want out all together of this and feel the same as many of you. my email is: conopa@***.com

Filing A Lawsuit on Grand Monarch Resorts
I have not used my timeshare in several years, The resort has not lived upto its obligation in keeping a clean resort, clean rooms. I have find it extremely hard to pay the monthly fee for a place that smells like a stinky cheap motel. The HOA fees go to what, it sure isn't the up keep, And now they have been bought by Diamond Resort in which we now have to pay for the merge or we are locked into the dilapidated and run down resorts like the Cancun in Las Vegas, and the Palm Springs Resort. No More. I am filing a lawsuit because they have failed to keep up their end so why should we...I will file a law suit against them for breach of contract, selling bad bill of goods.

Do not buy this timeshare
I knew that it was a bad idea to buy this timeshare. My EX- husband was the one who was sold on this idea. The offer sounded so great. He even upgraded our ownership. ***! Now, I'm stuck paying this *** timeshare cause he can not afford to pay the home owner quarterly fees. The lifetime rate that was not suppose to change, BIG *** LIE! It gets expensive every year. The worst thing, they want me to book in advance ( like a year) so I can use my points. The yearly fees I waste in my ownership dues can literally buy a decent European tour for two. With this, I still can't use my points yearly cause it's not available. Add insult to injury, if you search monarch grand vacation in orbitz, the days you wanted are available and cheaper than the cost of points you are required to Pay. WORST IDEA EVER

Monarch Grand Vacations - Paperwork Review from Menifee, California
I too have had endless run around of this horrific experience with DIAMOND RESORTS and Stephen Cloobeck is the biggest extortionist one can believe. I tried over and over to remove my Ex from the title, was told a Notary will come by and have me sign paperwork to legally remove the other party from the title, as well as a notary would have my Ex sign the same request to be removed. Months passed by and bill after bill I saw the name remain. I left messages and emails. Finally after a pretty intense email I received a call from customer service which stated a name can not be removed from a title until the loan is paid off. Complete bull. I advised the customer service rep I was done being a nice owner and they can take me to court. I had to change my number and some how they obtained my new number and address. I Continue to receive 3-4 calls a day demanding payment. Time Shares are an epitome to scams. Take take take from the owner and we don't receive any assistance. Where do I sign for this lawsuit!! I'm in. Below is my email. ahs.nineteenseventynine@***.com

Monarch Grand and Diamond Resorts - Want out of unfair practice
OK First off, I purchased 133 points through MGV back in 2001. Just like everyone else my wife and I got the points thinking we were going to take some vacations and take our little boys o Disney land and other places. I have gone to the Riviera Resort in CA and found it to be substandard. We would have been better off staying in a motel 6 close to Disney Land. I am upset at how MGV and Diamond can hold customers accountable for maintenance fees for owning points, especially for those who have paid them in full like myself. I have tried to give MGV the points back saying hey I paid the full amount and have used it 2 times take it back and we can call it good. Unfortunately MGV and diamond do not want to buy back or release anyone from these contracts because they are receiving money from us for really nothing more than a piece of paper. What I would recommend is to get your local congressman involved. The more congress man who hear things like this happening to their constituents the more likely it is for others to get on board with legislation to protect us consumers. I have already sent a request to my Congressman.

We'd love to join a lawsuit for Monarch or Diamond too.

Thanx!
I was also an owner for Monarch Grand Vacations and was coerced to upgrade to Diamond resorts without apparently receiving all necessary information. I just received my maintence fee that was outrageous.
Items were added that I was not aware of and it is clear this is a huge nightmare for me. I would love to get out of it but am afraid they will be aggressive coming after me financially.
I am clueless as to what to do.
